Please join the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities, the Lakes Area Community Coalition and the Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce West Oakland’s Regional Chamber for a Virtual FREE Naloxone training.

REGISTER TODAY!

Everyone who attends the virtual training will be trained on the proper administration of the Intra-Nasal Narcan overdose reversal drug.

You must be at least 14 years of age to receive a Save A Life kit which includes 2 doses of 4mg Nasal Narcan.
Pre-Registration is required and a survey must be completed at the end of the training in order to receive your Save A Life Kit.

​Oakland County Executive David Coulter will be joined by pastors from area churches to announce faith-based testing sites for the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilizing faith-based communities will help the county in its efforts to reach vulnerable populations. Testing will be conducted in partnership with two health systems.

Safety measures: • All persons will be screened prior to entering the news conference, including recording temperature. • A mask will be required to enter the news conference. One will be made available for those who don’t have one. • News media who attend will be socially distanced six feet apart. • Hand sanitizer will be available. • Those who do not wish to attend will be able to watch the news conference on the Executive Office Facebook page (@OakGov.EO) and ask questions by conference call. Coronavirus-Focused Virtual Business Workshops Among Several Offered By Oakland County Small Business Team

​Pontiac, Michigan – Business owners and entrepreneurs who may have had their operations or aspirations interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic have a chance to get back on track with the help of expert business counselors from Oakland County’s small business team.

The center is offering a series of workshops as part of its June/July schedule that focus on business strategies for responding to the pandemic, including:

  • Market Research Basics During the Coronavirus Crisis – Consumers Have Changed, Will You?
  • How to Write a Business Plan in the New Economy

“We encourage business owners and entrepreneurs to take advantage of these workshops which are tailored to giving useful direction and strategies to help business owners chart a course for success,” County Executive David Coulter said. “Our economic development small business team is anxious to help you and your business through the pandemic or help you formalize your entrepreneurial vision.”

Bridge work to close Rochester Road under

I-75 starting Friday night in Oakland County

 

Fast facts:

– Starting Friday night, crews will begin pouring a new bridge deck on the southbound I-75 structure over Rochester Road.

– Rochester Road will be closed under I-75 starting at 9 p.m. Friday, June 19, and will reopen by noon Saturday, June 20.

– The left-turn lane on the northbound I-75 exit ramp to southbound Rochester Road will be closed for safety.

 

June 17, 2020 — Weather permitting, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contracting crews will be closing both directions of Rochester Road under I-75 to pour a new bridge deck starting at 9 p.m. Friday, June 19. Both directions of Rochester Road are expected to reopen by noon Saturday, June 20. In addition, the left-turn lane on the northbound I-75 exit ramp to southbound Rochester Road will be closed.

 

During the closure, detours for Rochester Road will be posted in each direction using Maple, Livernois and Big Beaver roads.
